XIXth CENTURY FOUNTAINS (1st page)

Selami Fountain
Founder : A ruined fountain whose founder is unknown was rebuilt in 1215 AH/ 1800 by the steward of Şuhi Kadın. In 1254 AH/ 1838-39 Sultan Mahmud II ordered his treasurer to have the fountain repaired.
Date :1215 AH / 1800
Location : On Bağdat Caddesi in Selâmiçeşme.
Type : Single face menzil namazgâh fountain.

Selim Han (III) Fountain (Çiçekçi Fountain)
Founder : Sultan Selim III.
Date :1217 AH / 1802
Location : At the corner of Harem İskelesi Sokağı in Çiçekçi in Üsküdar.
Type : Single face corner fountain with storage tank.

Mihrişah Valide Sultan Fountain- Yeniköy
Founder : Mihrişah Valide Sultan, mother of Selim III.
Date :1220 AH / 1805
Location : On Köybaşı Caddesi in Yeniköy.
Type : Single face wall fountain.

Mahmud Han (II) Fountain
Founder : Sultan Mahmud II.
Date :1226 AH / 1811
Location : In the garden next to Beylerbeyi Mosque on the seafront in Beylerbeyi.
Type : Single face freestanding fountain.

Ahmed Kâmili Efendi Fountain
Founder : Rumeli Elhac Hafız Ahmed Kâmili Efendi.
Date :1228 AH / 1813
Location : Recorded in 'Istanbul Çeşmeleri' as being on the waterfront at the coal quay south of the mosque in Sarıyer, this fountain was earlier in the fish market, but when this market was demolished in 1962, it became a freestanding fountain.
Type : Single face freestanding fountain.

Ahmed Ağa Fountain
Founder : Kaptani Hacı Hafız Ahmed Ağa.
Date :1233 AH / 1817
Location : On the seaward side of the road along the Golden Horn between Eminönü and Unkapanı
Type : Single face freestanding fountain.

Cevri Usta Fountain and Sebil
Founder : Sultan Mahmud II.
Date :1235 AH / 1819
Location : Cevri Kalfa School on Divanyolu in Sultanahmet.
Type : Single face wall fountain with sebil.

Mahmud Han (II) Fountain
Founder : Sultan Mahmud II.
Date :1247 AH / 1831
Location : Next to the bus stop on Bağdat Caddesi opposite Bostancı Pier.
Type : Single face fountain with namazgâh.
