XIXth CENTURY FOUNTAINS (3rd page)

Baba- Oğul Fountain/ Kuruçeşme
Founder : Tayfur Ağa, chief black eunuch, and his adopted son Besim Ağa, chief gentleman-in-waiting.
Date :1260 AH / 1844
Location : Originally on the road between Kadıköy and Acıbadem, but now moved to the other side of the road.
Type : Single face corner fountain with storage tank.

Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan Fountain- Guraba
Founder : Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan, mother of Sultan Abdülmecid.
Date :1261 AH / 1845
Location : Left of the entrance to Bezmiâlem Mosque next to Bezmiâlem Vakıf Gureba Hospital in Arpaemini (Yenibahçe), Çapa.
Type : Single face wall fountain.

Hasan Rıza Paşa Fountain- Kadıköy
Founder : Hasan Rıza Paşa, serasker (commander-in-chief).
Date :1261 AH / 1845
Location : On Serasker Sokağı in Kadıköy
Type : Single face corner fountain.

Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan Fountain- Serencebey
Founder : Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan, mother of Sultan Abdülmecid.
Date :1262 AH / 1846
Location : On the front façade of Cihan Apartmanı, 27 Hasırcı Veli Sokak, in Serencebey, Beşiktaş
Type : Single face wall fountain.

Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan Fountain- Tarabya
Founder : Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan, mother of Sultan Abdülmecid.
Date :1269 AH / 1852
Location : On Hayat Çeşmesi Sokağı in Tarabya
Type : Single face wall fountain.

Hasan Rıza Paşa Fountain- Moda
Founder : Rıza Paşa.
Date :1268 AH / 1852
Location : Opposite Moda Police Station in Mühürdar, Kadıköy
Type : Single face corner fountain.

Bâb-ı Âli Gate Fountain
Founder : Sultan Abdülmecid.
Date : 1848
Location : On Alay Köşkü Caddesi.
Type : Single face wall fountain.

Hırka-i Şerif Mosque Fountain
Founder : Unknown.
Date :19th century.
Location : Adjoining the courtyard wall of Hırkâ-i Şerif Mosque.
Type : Single face wall fountain

Ramiz Ağa Fountain
Founder : Ramiz Ağa.
Date :1278 AH / 1861
Location : On top of the retaining wall opposite Şenlik Dede Mescid in Beşiktaş.
Type : Single face corner fountain with storage tank.
