Gülseren Çakır Kılıçaslan
She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in various Anatolian cities and then worked at the Kütahya Porcelain Factory for a while and studied tile design. She then stayed in Germany for some three years. She graduated from Hacettepe University Fine Arts Academy in 1990, having entered it in 1983 (coming second in the Painting Department and third in the faculty as a whole). She came second in the 9th Atatürk Painting Competition in 1990, held by the TPAO, although the first prize was shared. That same year she entered the Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts master class. While she was still on her postgraduate course she worked for the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) as a cartoon animator in the Artistic Services Department. Passing the State Ballet and Opera competitive exam, she started working as a stage decorator in 1992. She completed her masters with a thesis on “The object, image and subconscious”.
She istill works for the State Ballet and Opera and still produces paintings. She is a member of “International Plastic Arts Association.”
