Rings

The section of the rings put on hand fingers or toes can be in different forms such as semi - circle, square, thin band. Except the flat rings, the part that will come to the upper side is expanded; this part, which is named as the ring brow, can be decorated with a relief or carving, seal, motif or figures. In general, a monture is placed on the ring brow for the attachment of the ring stone and various forms of ring stones are placed in the monture. It’s having a symbolic meaning as a result of its being assumed to be enchanted. At the beginning, it appeared as an indicator of authority and then it has gained a meaning symbolizing the connection between the emperor and the public, the high rank religion personnel and God, and representing the marriage and devotion. In later terms, it has become widespread as ornamental Jewellery. In the development period, rings with stones are seen. The first samples with stones have been formed by the attachment of non - fixed rotating scrabes to the ring. Besides metal rings, glass rings have also been used.
