Potatoes Burger (Patates Köftesi)

Potatoe | 5 medium size | 500 gr |
Bread (stale) | 2 thin slices | 60 gr |
Parsley | 2/3 bunch | 40 gr |
Yellow cheese | 5 tablespoon | 50 gr |
Egg | 1 piece | 50 gr |
Salt | 1 1/2 teaspoon | 9 gr |
Black Pepper | 1/4 teaspoon | 0.5 gr |
Nutmeg | 1/4 teaspoon | 0.5 gr |
Oil | 3 tablespoon | 30 gr |
Preparation
Cook potatoes
in water until tender. Peel and mash while still hot; cool. Soak bread in clod
water. Squeeze dry. Combine potatoes, bread, egg, minced parsley, cheese, salt
and spices. Mix thoroughly. Shape into 18 egg sized 7 mm thick oval flat patties
between oiled palms. Arrange in an oiled baking pan. Bake in a moderate oved
for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven. Transfer on a serving
plate with a turner. Serve hot.

served at cocktail parties. lnstead of bread, 2-3 tablespoons of dried bread
crumbs can be used. Potatoe köftes are deep fat fried in some recipes. Potatoe
köftes are coated well with flour before frying. Then dipped in well-beaten
egg. Coated well with bread crumbs. Fried and drained on paper towel. 1/4 teaspoon
mace can be added to potatoe mixture.
