OKRA (Bamya)

1/2 1bs. okra, small and tender ones should be selected (or two boxes of frozen
okra)
1 large onion
3 large soft tomatoes
1 large lemon
1 tsp. paprika
1
1/2 tsps. salt
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup corn oil (or any other oil of prefence)
Chop
the onion and place it in a pot together with the oil and stir until the onions
are transparent. Then add peeled, seeded and chopped tomatoes. Cook for ten minutes
until you have a nice thick sauce add the prepared okra, lemon juice, paprika,
salt and water and simmer for twenty minutes without stirring. Serve this dish
hot.
