Leeks with Rice

LEEKS WITH RICE (Pirinçli Pırasa)

4 medium leeks
2 medium carrots
1/2 cup rice
1/4 cup olive oil (salad oil can be substituted)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup water

Cut the leeks and carrots (Leeks 1 inch thick carrots 1/4 inch thick) add all the rest of the ingredients and cook over medium heat until the rice is well done. Serve in room temperature.

Serves 3
